A significant part of Nampa’s economy is based upon agriculture and agricultural service industries. Great Northern Grain Terminals, a Timothy Processing Plant and seed cleaning facility are located in the Village of Nampa. Great Northern Grain, one of the largest privately owned grain producers in Alberta, handles approximately 130 thousand metric tones of grain per year. The forest and oil industries are of significant economic benefit to the Village of Nampa. The Boucher Brother Lumber Mill has provided employment and business opportunities for residents of the Village of Nampa and the surrounding area. Development of the Shell In—Situ Oil Sand Plant, located 50 kilometers northeast of Nampa, has created numerous benefits to the community. Vacant industrial and residential lots are available for development in the Village of Nampa.
